CEA’s panel discussion “Call to Arms to Defend Technology Freedom”

I woke up this morning, turned on the TV and HDNET had this on. Five people from CEA were discussing the patent infringement issues that technology industry is facing today. Michael Petricone, Gigi Sohn, Fred von Lohmann, Jim Barry, and Gary Shapiro were the members of the panel which was great to see because I have always heard about them but never seen them in person. One thing that caught my attention is the fact that patent law is about 30 years old. Talk about a need for some change. With so much advancement that we had in technology over the years, its time for the government to catch up.

One more thing, which was actually pretty funny, was the panel members mentioning and almost mocking Mark Cuban for his opposing view of Google acquiring YouTube.com. If you didn’t know, HDNET, which i believe is the only channel that this panel discussion was on, is owned by the man himself.
